To start with a confession: I have never seen a minute of Penoza. Of course, I knew about the criminal activities of Carmen and her Penozers, but I was so busy binge-watching on Netflix that the public broadcaster didn't come into play on Sunday evenings. But suddenly this seems to be the moment to start, because Carmen is alive, people. Spring-le-vend.
After the final season 5, the (almost) entire Dutch population was left with a big question, because was Carmen Walraven really around the corner after her fall or not? This morning, the makers of the film Penoza, Dutch Filmworks, came out with an uplifting, quite fictional news report. Carmen survived her fall and the drug queen is living life in Canada. Only that a fox does not lose its tricks proves to be true again, as she seems to be the only survivor of a shooting in a restaurant in Canada. Interpol personally informs lead investigator Jim Leeflang about the sprightly status of Van Walraven. Aiaiai, enough juicy material for Penoza the movie, I think. If I start the series now, I will surely be caught up by the time the release is there.
