Skiën of niet skiën

I have been living in a split for thirty years because I still haven't figured out whether I'm team ski or team beach chair. Well, I am definitely more team beach chair, but if I look closely, I can really understand why people enjoy going into the mountains. So I open the battle team ski and team not to ski now opened. Today in the ring, team ski.
1. Cozy
That's just it, those snow-covered roofs, those snug little houses, that fireplace that burns everywhere, it's the coziest vacation you can imagine. With games and card sessions at thick, pine kitchen tables.
2. The fresh air
All day you are outside in the clearest air you can imagine. That leads to…
3. Sleeping
Sleeping times a thousand and more, that's what you do after such a day with your snout in the sun and a bit of glühwein in your throat. And especially under one of those Austrian duvets that they fold double so that you are covered in down both underneath and on top. Blissful.
4. The Raclette
A day of skiing calls for calories, so bring it on. You can't see anything in those baggy pants anyway. That bikini body can wait until May.
5. Now that we're talking about calories
The hot chocolate… And the cookies they serve with it. And the Kaiser rolls.
6. Enjoying yourself
Nothing elevated about a ski vacation. No museum in sight, so you don't have to feel guilty that your range is from hotel room to slope to après-ski bar with at most a stop at the spa and the heated pool. Wonderful.
7. Fashion is on neutral
For me, just as much of a downside as an upside because the fashion level is just below freezing like the thermostat. It's mainly about being warm and comfortable.
8. Social media-free
Because it's hard to text and Instagram with your thick mittens on, that phone stays in your backpack. And wow, that's also a clarifying and refreshing experience.
So if you're going; have fun. I'm going to soak up the sun one more time in Italy, but this Christmas I'm coming to you. Let's see if it works out.
