The 3 tips to celebrate Christmas à la Meghan Markle

That Harry, Meghan, and little Archie are not under Elizabeth's wings during the holidays is known, but how do they celebrate it? It seems that the royals are enjoying a meal at Meghan's mother’s place in California. We can imagine that she suddenly has something to say about setting tables, decorating trees, or what’s in the glass. And let’s not forget that Meghan has once explained in detail how she prefers it.

The decoration
A little staircase or mantelpiece should be decorated with a garland or branches of magnolia. But you shouldn't skip the framing of a mirror or painting in the hallway or the middle of the living room; it’s actually extra beautiful if you accentuate that.

On the table
Meghan keeps the table simple yet chic. The tablecloth is white, the napkins are white, just like the dishes, and for decoration, there are some white flowers in low vases (a Moscow mule mug also works well, she says) as a centerpiece to make the stylish cutlery stand out. She serves snacks and courses on silver trays in small and large sizes to give it a slightly more formal touch.

On the plate
Make something and bring it along or cook together with friends or family, is Meghan's tip. And if you ever end up at her table (I don’t even know how), then it’s at least a hundred percent certain that she has made too much. We also immediately know that Doria, Harry, and Archie will be enjoying treats for days.

In the glass
Meghan always pours the Almond Milk Spiced Holiday Cocktail herself, so we copied her recipe. I wonder if the Queen has ever taken a sip of her alcoholic almond milk.

What you need for Meghan's Christmas cocktail:

  • 4 cups unsweetened almond milk (you can estimate about 240 ml for 1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cardamom
  • 1 tablespoon ginger powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon cloves
  • 6-8 dried dates soaked in water
  • Your favorite bourbon
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish

How to make it:
Mix all the ingredients (except the bourbon) in a blender and then pour it into a small saucepan. Heat on low temperature and add a splash of bourbon (to taste and preference). Pour into the glass and garnish with the cinnamon sticks. It's also nice cold, so skip the heating and mix in a cocktail shaker with ice. According to Meghan, just as delicious.
