today we visit westergasfbrieksterrein

It was already fun of course, with De Bakkerswinkel, the headquarters of Tony’s Chocolonely, Mossel & Gin, Het Ketelhuis, the studio of DWDD, Jinek and Pauw, but tomorrow the Westergas will be festively reopened, because now it is in the hands of Duncan and Lisca Stutterheim and that equals party in capitals.

Duncan Stutterheim was the man behind ID&T, so he knows how to hang a garland. But he is wiser, older and richer, yes, that too, because the sale of ID&T brought in 75 million, so man, what do you do with so much money. Well, invest in his city Amsterdam and in culture. And preferably in such a way that everyone can enjoy it.

It is not typical for the Stutterheims to sit down and be Scrooge McDuck together. No, how nice is it to shape beautiful projects? When the news came that the Amsterdam preschool was no longer free, Duncan Stutterheim immediately mobilized the better-off Amsterdammer to pay for those who have it a bit less well. That’s how we like to see it.

On Friday, the Westergas will be festively opened as it will be called from now on, and I would say: if you don’t have plans yet… I would go. All hospitality venues are rolling out the red carpet and have a special menu. There is an audio tour written and narrated by Pepijn Lanen (you know him from watskeburt), there is plenty to do for children, you can eat at Mister Kitchen, Mossel & Gin, there are terraces, your child will be painted while a glass of white is poured for you… It’s a party, in short. Celebrate the city! Celebrate the party. It starts at 3:00 PM.
