book by daphne deckers, must read

Bam, there was a hefty novel on my desk. ‘Double Six’ by Daphne Deckers counts 478 pages cleanly and if you think: not for me because I have no time for thick collections of letters... You're wrong. This is a wonderfully light, intensely relatable, and funny-while-also-sad book. I find it impressive how Daphne, who has never had a drop of alcohol in her life, can so wonderfully lose herself in a character who, well, quite likes to pop corks from bottles, swipes credit cards, and leads a rather wild and quite irresponsible lifestyle.

And I want to read it again later and highlight the nice sentences, because in this book she also sprinkles her verbal finds as if they are ginger nuts.

Her first book is being adapted into a film and this story also begs for a big screen. Although bringing it back to romcom thickness (I believe a book shouldn't be thicker than 140 pages) will still be a task. First, let's just enjoy the book. And otherwise maybe a Netflix series?
