Today we read ‘Holy Happy Belly’

After watching Heal on Netflix, I immediately believed in self-healing. If I just thought that my hernia could resolve itself, then it surely would. Of course, that didn't work, surprise surprise, but what stuck with me and what I wanted to try was the Ayurvedic way of eating. It turns out there is a cookbook by Bianca Fabrie, which contains everything you should and better not eat according to Ayurveda. I called Bianca to reveal the basics to you, here they come.

  1. In the summer, it is already very warm and by eating spicy food, you become more irritated. You can get more pimples, sweat more, and feel warmer than you should. Don't eat too spicy, sour, or salty.
  2. Opt for sweet, bitter, or pungent vegetables, such as pak choi, spinach, broccoli, and zucchini.
  3. In the winter, you have more need for fats and thus eat differently (no worries, this book is also in the making).
  4. Surprise: alcohol and fried food are not doing so well for your health this season.
  5. Adjust your food to the season, and you will feel better.

How do you do this globally? It's all in Bianca's book ‘Holy Happy Belly’, including really delicious recipes that (accidentally) are mostly vegetarian or vegan. How about a salad with fennel, cucumber, and a dressing of pomegranate and lime? Or that one quinoa salad with sweet potato, fennel, and a bit of feta? A gazpacho of cucumber and avocado? Meine gute, how delicious does that sound to me. What I say: I'm going to try it. You too?
