Vodka, tequila or wine: here you get the worst hangovers from

Feeling like an evening full of alcoholic buddies? You better know what you're pouring into your glass, because one drink is not the same as another.
Sure, you can enjoy a toast with your girlfriends and one glass more or less won't kill you, but if you're really going all out and want to go wild, definitely don't order tequila. You'll get worse hangovers from that than from, for example, vodka or wine. It turns out that 22 percent of people have been really sick after having a drink. And we mean really sick. It always seems like a fun plan to mess around with salt and lemon around one in the morning. Not so.
By the way, I made a rule with my sister's best friend, once, in a distant past, when I still found drinking shots amusing. The rule is: as soon as we run into each other in the pub or are together at the bar, we have to drink a tequila. There's no choice. ‘No, I don't feel like it’ is not allowed. We have to. The secret is that I really don't like tequila at all. She probably doesn't either, but it has become a tradition over time, and that's how it happened that I was even toasting with her at my wedding while gagging. My husband knew that.
Whiskey is completely off-limits in the world of hangovers: at least 33 percent of people get a severe hangover from it and lose out to vodka drinkers, of whom only 3 percent say they feel ‘terribly sick’ the day after. This is because the harmful substances that your body struggles with, are mainly found in dark drinks. But if you have to choose between tequila, vodka, or wine? Definitely go for wine: a few glasses of (good) white wine should be manageable if you don't want a pounding head. Red wine often contains a bit more alcohol, and again, it holds true: dark drinks give you worse hangovers. White vino is your friend. Just like water. But yes, the fish swim in that too.
Last tip: never come up with funny rules with girlfriends when you're young. You'll regret it a lot, a lot when you're older.
