Must visit: Athens in the winter

Did you know that Athens, with a comfortable average of twenty degrees, is the warmest city in Europe in the winter? All of Holland is massively boarding planes to the south of Spain, but that's completely the wrong direction. However, the capital of Greece also appears in almost all lists from Lonely Planet. In the top 10 cities, in the top 10 attractions, in the top 10 best value, and I find that last one interesting. You can see endless things in the city without spending a single euro, starting with the Acropolis, of course. Unless you use my reward system: see something and have a drink, see something else and eat again, out of a museum and into another bar. By the way, the food doesn't have to be absurdly expensive, although I would personally go to Izakaya, because I once tasted what the resident chef Polychronis makes there, and that's no small feat. But then the next day you dive into a family restaurant for the grilled eggplants of your life, which keeps things in balance. By the way, don't think that Athens is a sleepy place, because young Greeks are flooding the city and the country with the coolest bars, nice boutique hotels, and top-notch restaurants. Although this often still resides in charming buildings, like in the old part Plaka. I was still looking for a destination for December, but I think I've figured it out.
