Crazy cat lovers united. After being mocked many times, being ridiculed and not being understood, finally an event comes that is completely in our alley. I am thinking of creating a Facebook event. We can literally and figuratively shake hands there. Because yes, guys, CatVideoFest is coming to the Netherlands. I had never heard of it either, but now that I've read a bit about it, I'm sold. The reading went pretty quickly because the concept is simple: a compilation of the cutest cat videos. On a big screen, because CatVideoFest is held in cinemas. I didn't need more words, I'm in. Oh yes, the proceeds also go to a good cause. For cats in need, of course.

August 8 is the day that the Netherlands becomes a cat paradise, in the cities of Amsterdam, Groningen, and Rotterdam. August 8 is, not so coincidentally, also World Cat Day. And they are taking it quite seriously, there is even a real trailer (which you can check out below). Expect a marathon of Oscar-worthy cat videos. It's only a matter of time before this becomes a real category, of course. Why have we had to wait so long for this? Even better and more fun is that you can also submit your own cat video. At CatVideoFest in Rotterdam, the Award for ‘best cat video 2019’ will be awarded. Do your best, but the chance is already quite present that I will walk away with the prize.
