Wow, Beyoncé drops new album with 40 (!) songs

Queen Bey is now also known as the queen of dropping unexpected albums. She did this with Lemonade, Everything Is Love (together with hubby Jay-Z) and the album Beyoncé. And now for the fourth time with her brand new album Homecoming. Good job, Bey. Her fans, also known as the Beyhive, are understandably over the moon. And so are we, by the way.
By now you probably know that Bey has also released a Netflix docu under the same name and YES, this one is now on Netflix too. So, watch watch watch. The album Homecoming consists of 40 tracks, all live. While the docu focuses on the Coachella performance (where she says she would never push herself that hard again like she did for that show, tough), the album is also a sort of recording of the performance. As you might know, she performed not once, but twice (ah, now I understand that pushing indeed). In total, she was on stage for over two hours and sang 40 tracks. Yes, and those 40 tracks are now on the album Homecoming.
I always find live albums just a bit more fun than a studio recorded album. Especially when you take along a full orchestra like Beyoncé and definitely when you have hits like Single Ladies and Crazy In Love. And to top it off, the former colleagues from Destiny’s Child also drop by. When will Coachella officially be renamed to Beychella? My goodness, this woman can perform, I tell you.
As I said, the Netflix docu is now available on Netflix, but if you’re afraid that the two are the same, you’re mistaken. The docu does not show the entire concert but is more of a recording of everything around it. If you follow BeyJay a bit, you know that they shield their kids quite a bit from the public eye, but in Homecoming you see some too cute clips of their twins Rumi and Sir.
Also worth mentioning: Beyoncé was the first black woman to headline Coachella. She knew this all too well, of course, and this was the perfect intro for Who Run The World (Girls – or Bey in this case). Now if you will excuse me, I’m going to shake my booty to Drunk In Love and Baby Boy (my all-time favorite that luckily is on there). You can also go wild for the next two hours, the full album is on Spotify.
