10 unnecessary ridiculous facts
about babies

Six months after birth, babies can recognize their own name in a smoothly spoken sentence. They often pick up the first word after their name as well. That and more unnecessary nonsense about la bebes. Watch and learn. And, number 1 I already find quite bizarre, I must say…
1. WTF. Babies have body hair (especially mustaches!) in the womb and they eat it just before birth. I kid you not. That is then the first stool the baby has. HELP.
2. Cute though: babies all cry in a different ‘accent’ based on their parents' voices.
3. Newborn kiddos can only see in black and white for the first few months of their lives, after a few months the color red also comes in.
4. Babies have a super smart self-protection mechanism until they are about six months old that protects them from drowning. Once they fall into the water, their heart beats slower and they breathe much slower to survive.
5. Can you imagine being constantly tired? A baby is only alert for three minutes per hour during the day and even less at night.
6. Yes sorry, it gets weirder, but baby girls get their period. Let me explain. The baby receives hormones from her madre in the womb, but after birth, the baby still has to get rid of the estrogen. The girls lose some uterine lining and have a mini-menstruation?! Sometimes a little blood can even come from the nipples?? Say whut.
7. Because the larynx has not developed properly, babies up to six months old can breathe and swallow at the same time. And yes, try that now. Doesn't work. It's okay.
8. Le bebe is also born without kneecaps. The cartilage in that spot later develops into the kneecap. Ah, that's why those feet can easily go into the mouth.
9. When babies learn to laugh, they do this an average of about three hundred times a day. Just think about it: adults laugh only sixty times a day…
10. Did you know that mothers are programmed to kiss their baby a lot because they absorb any viruses on the baby's skin? #cute.
P.S.: Don’t worry, nothing is rattling in my body yet. Oh wait, yes, maybe that belly. #christmasfoodbaby
P.P.S.: The credits for producing this sweet bebe go to my brother-in-law/sister-in-law: hi baby Wout. You are gorgeous.
