10 unnecessary ridiculous facts about Monica Geuze

Kiki laughing with Monica GeuzeFrom a little rebellious girl to a badass woman with an empire. Mo really pulled it off. Last week she had her birthday (the magical age of twenty-five, yay) while she is in quarantine with a little kid. But luckily, Mo is not the worst and makes the best of it – as we know her. Therefore, this week: the unnecessary facts about Monica Geuze. Did you know this?

1. First things first. Monica. Rosanne. Irene. Quirine. Geuze. There. Nice to meet you.

2. By the way, she is not really that happy with her name. ‘I hear the name Monica a bit too often during 0906 commercials where a sultry voice asks you to text your postcode plus ON for hot parking sex near you.’

3. Monica has always claimed she would rather be a boy. When her grandfather gave her a Barbie for her birthday, she was so disappointed that she cut off the Barbie's head and ran crying to her room. She didn't understand that her grandfather hadn't noticed she didn't like girl things.

4. Did you know that Mo appeared as a ten-year-old kid in a music video by Racoon? In the clip she plays the daughter of a quarreling couple.

5. Mo was a dragon during her teenage years. Her mother also called her ’Hormoonica.’ Touché.

6. By the way, did you know that the girl also briefly trained to be a flight attendant? She actually wanted to study journalism, but school just wasn't really her thing.

7. Her name was also regularly on the bulletin board: ‘Monica to make up for 14 hours’, ‘Monica to make up for 18 hours’, ‘Monica to make up for 48 hours‘. ‘I didn't see the necessity and logic of having to go to school from Monday to Friday. Often we could decide for ourselves what we did,’ she wrote in her book My Way.

8. At sixteen, Ronnie Flex asked her to become his regular DJ. After doing this for him for three years, she also started DJing for herself in 2015. Her own debut single is called Letting Go.

9. Her first vlog – on the advice of Lil’ Kleine – was recorded on August 26, 2014, and has since received 827,600 views. Don't need to tell you that the rest is history, right?

10. Small estimate: purely from YouTube ad revenue, Mo earns about 12,000 a month. This doesn't even include the sponsored deals, merchandise, and bookings. Good job, girl.

P.S.: Last summer, Mo gave us a tour of the Love Island villa. You can check that here…
