‘And can I already note a name on the board?’ I immediately get emotional when saying his name: ‘His name is Elias.’

Eight hours earlier, I drove with Jon under a beautiful sunrise to OLVG East. Despite the intense labor of Otis (18 hours and ultimately an emergency cesarean), we approached this birth positively and relaxed. And thanks to all the good support in the hospital and Jon who helped immensely with pressure points to cope with the contractions, Elias Willem Frederik Karthaus was born at 4:50 PM via a natural birth. The amount of love that flowed through my veins immediately is indescribable. And the moment Otis met his little brother for the first time was equally one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Welcome to our family, dear Elias, we can't wait to experience, embrace, and intensely enjoy all the beauty that life has to offer together with you and your big brother, the four of us.
