Bad mood? Go bake cookies

Woman sitting at a desk with a cookie

I feel like it's 53 February and we've been in an extended autumn since September. And I can tell you: it doesn't really help my mood. It's just raging and raining over our heads. I've started taking vitamin D, I've stocked up on my entire spring wardrobe (in the category of anticipation), I've filled my room with magnolias, tulips, and snapdragons, but still, but still. I didn't really become much happier from it. But now I've found it, at least, my colleague has found it.

I need to bake cookies and preferably every day. The University of Otago in New Zealand has researched the well-being of people and their research showed that those who are creatively engaged (drawing, knitting, calligraphy) saw an increase in their level of well-being.

Baking, and especially baking cookies (probably because thinking about shape and decoration feeds the creative aspect more than when you make a stew), is especially the winner. It's good for your mental health and weighing ingredients and following the recipe would alleviate anxieties and reduce the effects of ADHD.

And with your daily dose of cookies, you also make many friends. Win-win.

I'm not the worst, so I'll share this delicious recipe.

And now it's a matter of baking until it becomes spring
