The tip to sleep through the night

Sometimes there are those baby products in the category ‘I wish I had thought of that’. We were quick with our luxury feeding shawls Lemej, but upon seeing the baby towels from Palais de l’eau, I immediately had one of those moments: a super soft and large towel that you tie around your neck with a snap button and easily lift your little one out of the bath and wrap them up nicely. Note: without getting yourself soaking wet or having to perform difficult maneuvers to wrap the little one up. And when I spoke to owner Conchita almost weekly, the idea for a limited collection together emerged. I am incredibly proud of this beautiful print and color combination. And with every baby towel and toddler cape, a washcloth is included, the entire proceeds of which go to the LINDA.foundation, which I have been supporting for a number of years. Because there are a lot of families with children who have been extremely hard hit by this crisis, and this foundation puts together beautiful packages to provide them with extra financial support during these times.

‘You guys are definitely going away this weekend, then both kids are coming to me.’ On Friday evening, I called my dear friend, where Otis would stay over so we could finally get a night’s sleep. But then I got a call that Elias’ babysitting arrangement might not go through and we had to cancel the whole thing. I am so glad she pushed through, because man oh man, it was so nice to get a night’s sleep. We were welcomed as VIPs in my favorite W hotel and had an absurdly beautiful suite. Almost a shame that we mainly slept…

On Insta, the ‘Insta vs. reality’ posts are flying at you, and even among mothers, it is greatly appreciated if you occasionally show the reality without sugarcoating it. And especially in the area of motherhood books, more and more writers want to highlight all the unpleasant and uncertain aspects of motherhood, like in the new book Preggy. And even though every experience is unique, I think many mothers find recognition in the intense, sometimes desperate, but also the most beautiful events from a mom's life. A delightful book to sober up from that pink baby cloud and feel supported in everything you experience as a new mama.

The new year is approaching, and so is our move. But as I walk through our new house now, it looks far from livable… Jon is still working on the construction site five days a week, which has many advantages, but also disadvantages: there are so many choices. And just when you make that one choice, someone else comes along with a golden tip that causes delays in realizing this… Especially since we want to renovate as sustainably as possible, where we hear that not everything is always applicable, only to hear from another party the following week that it was indeed possible. Ah, you basically renovate only once, so in the worst case, we’ll be living in the garden house for a few weeks…
