Coffee brewing talk: everything you need to know this morning

Kim Feenstra George Floyd Vanessa Bryant

You blink three times and miss half of the news. Not so strange, in a time when articles are pushing themselves at you from all sides. But no worries, I got you covered. This is what you want to know this morning.

Vanessa Bryant is suing the helicopter company for hundreds of millions
Not that there is even a euro that can restore the damage done, but still, the wife of Kobe Bryant wants compensation from the helicopter company involved in the crash that killed her husband Kobe and their daughter Gianna. The American website The Blast has obtained the court papers and reports that hundreds of millions are being claimed. Not only by Vanessa, but also by the three other families who lost a family member in the helicopter crash.

Half of the Dutch will not go on vacation this summer
Are you in the team get-on-the-plane-as-soon-as-possible? Or do you belong more to the wait-and-see camp? The Netherlands seems to be divided these days into two camps. EenVandaag surveyed over 29,000 Dutch people, and of them, 48 percent say they will stay home this summer. ‘If something goes wrong, at least I’ll be home,’ seems to be the reason for many to stay home. The other half who are going on vacation abroad say they are not too worried about the coronavirus in the country they are going to. Honestly, was the Netherlands ever this divided?

And then also time for some positive news: Kim Feenstra shares her first pregnancy photo
For everyone who has watched her reality soap Life of Kim: no, it wasn't really an easy ride for Kim to get pregnant. But she is now, and the world should know. She posted her first photo of her belly on Instagram yesterday and called it her ‘most precious selfie ever’. I get it, Kimmie. It looks so good on you. Enjoy your little cloud.

Derek Chauvin is charged with manslaughter
If the officer who put the chokehold on George Floyd is found guilty, he could be sentenced to up to forty years in prison. The three other officers involved are also in custody. A bail of 1.25 million dollars has been set for Derek. In Houston, where George Floyd grew up, a vigil was held yesterday. Thousands of people paid their last respects to him. Today he will be buried in a suburb of Houston, next to his mother.
