Diary of a model

Lily spends her days as a model, rushing from shoot to show and on to yet another casting. On Amayzine, she tells you all about what her life is really like. Under a different name, of course, but that means she can share all the juicy details. This week: about her days at home.
Hi! How is everyone doing? I would love to write about all the modeling adventures I've experienced in the past few weeks, but I can't get much further than an email back and forth with my agents asking if they are also so bored. So this time, I will take you along in the exciting day-to-day events that I am experiencing. And believe me: you can still experience a lot in these quarantine times. For example, this morning I made a green smoothie and oatmeal (recipes will follow), but my blender really needs replacing (no income, no expenses). So, in a fit of rage, I had to shove a pencil into one of the ‘snacks’ to get that thing working.
Quarantine makes you creative, I guess. Then I poured the smoothie, in which I had put so much sweat and tears, over my hands instead of into the glass (you lose weight from sweat and tears, a modeling secret for you!). Annoying, wasteful, but not a disaster. After licking the green sludge off the counter, I started on the oatmeal. Here it comes: five tablespoons of oatmeal in the pan with almond milk, then I stir in a whipped egg white and a mashed banana, let it simmer until it looks like vomit with chunks, then I scoop it into a bowl (not over my hands this time) and decorate it with flaxseed, chia seeds, peanut butter, and strawberries.
Since it was already a profitable morning, I smashed the strawberries on the ground, pouring my oatmeal through a colander. This detour at least ensured that I had already done four squats before I could take a bite. Staying active in quarantine is key. Speaking of moving: I am lucky to have a sporty housemate and we live near a park/forest that hasn't been discovered by all of Amsterdam yet (no, I won't say which one). I thought it would be a good idea to walk off the clumsiness and oatmeal. So we set out with disinfectant spray in hand. Normally, I shouldn't get too tanned because then my ‘look’ changes too much, but no work, no rules, no worries. Instead of good sunscreen and a cap, body lotion seemed enough for this time. The result? A little sun allergy on my neck. Aside from the red spots on my neck, the park was beautiful and peaceful. So peaceful that someone felt free enough to walk through the woods in their nakedness. Freedom, happiness, in corona times.
Finally, I had a little adventure at home. In a tidying-up frenzy, I decided to crawl up to the attic again and discovered that it extended further than I thought. At the back, around the little wall, there was a whole section of beams without a floor or light. Quarantine is, of course, the perfect time to do something about that. With a flashlight, I crawled a bit further into the attic, only to encounter a beautiful (completely decomposed) mouse skeleton. Therefore, I have postponed my renovation plan until my prince with gloves comes to help me.
As you can read, I am still experiencing incredibly exciting adventures. If you want to have just as surprising a day, try this green smoothie recipe in the morning.
- green mush: 1 banana
- a quarter avocado
- 6 cubes of frozen spinach
- two stalks of celery
- a piece of ginger the size of your thumb
- almond milk
- peanut butter
- flaxseed
Blend in a working blender, pour INTO a glass, and enjoy!
XX Kisses from Lily
