Earn quick money in January: you have everything you need at home

It's Sunday. I'm cleaning my house, coming across all sorts of shoes, bags, trinkets, dresses, and bad purchases, and I think: no, this is such a waste. Why would you want something to take up space in your house that you A: don't use and B: only decreases in value while you C: could make other people happy with it while you D: fill your January pot? So I started a mini shop on Instagram Stories and I can't say anything other than that #Kiki’sClosetSale went off like a bomb. How do you make quick cash in a short time? Sell your stuff on Insta. This is how you do it.

Spend time on your photography

Look, you want to sell something. You want to give your old treasures a new life with someone else. Then it's important to present it all a bit nicely. Think of the people who do the window displays at Bijenkorf during the Christmas season. You are that person now. Take sharp photos in good daylight. If necessary, buy a white cardboard sheet and lay it on the ground to make the items stand out better. I photographed on a wicker rug with a white background and I must say: that vibe works well too.

Design = everything
Got some nice pics taken? Great, onto step 2. I personally used the Unfold app to choose a standard layout in which I formatted all my photos in the same way. For the Gucci loafers, I wrote: ‘Oh my Gucci’ and for the Prada heels ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. Again: design is everything if you want to sell something. Make it attractive and fun. And it's really not that much extra work if you pour it into a standard format.

Think about pricing
Why do they say €29.95 instead of 30 euros? Exactly. It's a sales strategy. Do you want to become a successful market vendor of your own shop? Be smart. Think realistically about pricing. If you're too expensive, no one will buy anything from you. If you go too cheap, your brain gets a sort of IJ-Hallen feeling (‘oh, they must be rags because it's all so cheap’).

Write a small text for your item
Again: it doesn't have to be rocket science, just a few sentences is enough. What is this item? What did you like to wear it with? What size is it? What do you want for it? Bonus points if you think about how to sell something quickly. For one pair of heels (with an incredibly good footbed), I wrote: These. Heels. Fit. Honestly. Super. Comfortable and within a few minutes, there were already ten women interested in heels that are comfortable. Again: be smart. Highlight what you love most about the item and why.

3… 2… 1… open your mini shop!

For the next few hours, you are at the service of your phone. Quick responses are the motto. Did you find a buyer for your item? Send a payment request immediately (and don't forget to add €6.95 shipping costs if it becomes a package). Ask for addresses and stack your sold items with the addresses. Then finally, very important: the completion. Make sure you send everything within a few days. If I was a rich girl, nananananananaaaaaaaa.

CLOTHING DESERVES A SECOND LIFE!

SUCCESS!!!
