Easy DIY at home: the tie-dye trend à la Dior

fashion show tie dye

From the classic denim twist at Christian Dior and Stella McCartney to a rainbow creation à la Versace and Proenza Schouler, tie-dye is all the rage this spring and summer a must in your wardrobe. And you may already feel it coming: now that you, like the rest of the Netherlands, are looking for extra occupational therapy, we are going to turn a pair of Nike socks, Vogue T-shirt, boring jeans, boiler suit, croptop or even a pillowcase into an eye-catcher of a piece. Quickly bring out that inner crea bea in you and tie the knot.

All you need is a bottle of bleach, rubber bands, dental floss or if necessary a shoelace and possibly extra colours of textile paint. Trust me, a DIY project has been never so easy. Oh, and just in case you get an appetite, you can go the extra mile by experimenting with, for example, bricks, markers, next-level folding or even a cardboard mould. Sounds more complicated than it is, really. Just check out this video. Totally Dior, us.
