Everyone is talking about the Netflix series The Stranger

Have you finished YOU completely? I totally get it, it came out during Christmas and that was almost two months ago. Yours truly here finished it in two days, so I guess the average Netflix viewer is probably about done too (I'm not one to drop series, let that be clear). I finished Sex Education at an even faster pace (that second season was just too good) and then I fell into the infamous gap. The Netflix gap. What to watch? I was ready for something exciting again and the whole saying of ‘seek and you shall find‘ proved true for me. I present to you: The Stranger. It's been on Netflix for a while, since January 30th, and it's great.
And it's thrilling. The trailer, which you can check out below, gave away quite a bit about the plot. Always tricky, but it works well for The Stranger. Here's the deal: brave family man Adam is approached by a mysterious woman, who tells him that the woman he is married to is not who he thinks she is. Okay, so far so good and honestly: so far nothing we haven't seen before. But what's interesting is that the series doesn't just focus on Adam's wife, who she might be and why she lies. No, it also focuses on that mysterious lady. Adam is not her only target, and soon she ensures that random secrets are revealed throughout the entire town.
But Adam's wife, she packs her bags quite quickly when Adam confronts her, which leads to a bit of a Gone Girl scenario. No spoilers, but by the end of the first season, you'll find out how it all really is. Of course, you can puzzle a bit beforehand about how and what, but I'm particularly bad at that myself. So I was quite surprised at the end of season one.
So if you're looking for a nice pastime: check out The Stranger. Or read the book it's based on, by Harlan Coben. By the way, if you loved The Outsider from HBO, then this one definitely needs to be on your list; a bit of the same plot and as far as I'm concerned, the same in terms of the not-wanting-to-drop-meter. So watch it.
