Enjoy: the 13 most legendary moments from First Dates

I think the show First Dates is really super. It's now on every weekday and that might be a bit too much of a good thing, because I can't manage to watch it every day. But if I could, I would absolutely do that, because it's pure enjoyment. The genuine couples that come out are the cutest, but the best part is of course the awkward moments (something with ‘schadenfreude is the best entertainment’, I think?). And since we can't really go on dates during these corona times, this is the next best thing. Over the years, quite a few gems have passed through the First Dates restaurant and I've put together the best ones. By the way, I couldn't find my favorite online, so I'll just tell you about it beforehand. A boy asks a girl what her tattoo (which says ‘Carpe Diem’ in very large letters) stands for. Answer: ‘Carpe Diem, that means ‘seize the day’ in German.’ Sometimes I wonder how she is doing now. And with her German knowledge.

1. The girl who asks for vegan red wine, then explains what makes red wine NOT vegan, realizes that there is no vegan red wine, and still asks for a glass because she's not that vegan after all.

2. Ah of course, she immediately asks the essential question for her: stuff or fold?

3. ‘In his own way, he has humor, but not the humor I mean.’

4. A woman who brings a hand puppet to a date. It can't really go wrong, right?

5. This man has prepared well, with all sorts of questions he can ask. Pizza or fries? Cold or warm weather?

7. The boy who sincerely asks the waitress for a band-aid because he scraped his knee when he fell for her (this can't be true?)

8. The date of Jan and Rina. You just have to see it. That Jan.
