Good news: natural chips are just about healthy

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the foodies of online food magazine FavorFlav knowing where to drink, how to eat it, and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you good news, because natural chips are just about healthy.
Of course, even we won't go so far as to say that any chips are healthy or good for you (except maybe for your mood) or that they provide a decent amount of your daily dose of (potato) vitamins, but that good old humble chip, just the plain variant, isn't so bad after all.
The art of omission
That's mainly due to what is not in it. Grab a random bag of Doritos and behold that long list of not immediately appetite-inducing ingredients. We are certainly not against a flavor enhancer and in the Netherlands you can happily assume that food is safe, but palm oil, glucose syrup, sugar, and dextrose? Wow. Put it down again. And now a bag of super simple natural chips. Just a bag of Appie house brand or, if you want to be fancy, a bag of Kettle Sea Salt. What does it say there? Potato, sunflower oil, and salt. That’s it.
Is that a banana in your chip bag?
Do you know what else is a bonus in chips? Potassium. In 100 grams of natural chips, there is 1,275 mg of potassium – roughly the same as in a small banana. Potassium is a mineral that is good for your blood pressure and regulating the fluid balance in your body. Furthermore, you will also find fiber and protein in it, and don't think you will find that if you, for example, open a bag of Skittles or something similar as a binge snack.
So?
Have we convinced you? Shall we collectively leave the complicated sweet sugar chips behind and restore the modest thin slice of fried potato to its rightful place? I know in any case what I will open tonight.
