Hang your bra on the willow and split to slip

I don't know what was behind the colon after the word dress code at the Grammys, but it certainly wasn't ‘come as you are’. Last night, ‘big’, ‘captivating’, and ‘striking’ set the tone (thankfully, Ariana Grande has her swimming diploma, otherwise she would have surely drowned in her Giambattista Valli), but however diverse, there are still some common denominators to be found.
1. Let them sway
Except for Tove Lo, who let her Agent Provocateur balcony peek out above her jacket, the bra was the big missing piece in the Staples Center in LA. The motto was ‘loose in the cage’, as seen with Priyanka Chopra, Heidi Klum, Bebe Rexha, Saweetie, and my absolute favorite of the evening, Grace Elizabeth, who couldn't have done more justice to her last name than in this ‘robe’ by Giuseppe Di Morabito.

2. Split to the slip
High, higher, highest was the motto when it came to the side split. It went straight to the slip or, in the absence of one, to the place where the slip usually resides. Chrissy Teigen, Adrienne Warner, Black Chyna, Mollie King, Megan Pormer, who was hoping her leg wouldn't distract from her political pamphlet in the form of a marriage between the flags of America and Iran, and Heidi Klum, who also earned a stamp for her bingo card here.

3. Belly here, rib there
That rib-removing surgery must be shown. On your Insta snaps on islands begging for scarce little nothings, but also on the red carpet. So you make sure to wear dresses where something is missing: the so-called cut-out dress. Águeda López, Njomza, Nija Charles.

4. Strapless is still allowed
The classic strapless remains a favorite on the carpet. Full of extravagance, like the white dress of Lizzo, who not only won three Grammys but should also walk very confidently to the podium of best-dressed women: Dreezy and Jessie Reyez.
