Extra trick
If you thought you use everything the way it is intended, you are mistaken. And so are we. Recently we discovered what the sombrero on the tequila bottle, the hole in a spaghetti spoon, and cutting board are actually for. And now even pepper and salt mills have an extra trick that leaves us amazed.

Coarse versus fine
Thanks to an observant Twitter user, we know (after years) that the pepper and salt mill has two different grinding settings. Because what turns out? By lifting the cap of the mill, you create a coarser grind and by lowering the cap, the mill gives a finer grind. Of course, we had to test this and the result is astonishing: left the result with the cap up, right with the cap down.
