I am stopping drinking wine (30 days, no worries)

Not forever, you know, but for the next thirty days. Although I'm still looking for an escape for messages on my birthday the end of this month, although I don't yet know how to approach that, but for now, the cork is on the bottle. I'm participating in sobertober. Yes, yes, the little creature needs a name.
Here's the thing: I've behaved scandalously from March 13 (who could ever forget this day?) until the day I went on vacation. We're not going to talk about my vacation itself, because during vacation, everything is permissible as far as I'm concerned. But let's talk about the days, weeks, and months before that. Because I spent morning, noon, and night in the same room, at the same kitchen table, and one day seamlessly transitioned into the next, I really needed a moment when my work officially stopped and my free time began. Normally, you do this by driving home; I did this by pouring myself a nice glass together with my love. I have already set the rule for myself that I don't drink alone, so that kept things somewhat under control since he worked outside the home, but beyond that... I visited the glass recycling bin more often than the bakery. It basically comes down to the fact that I snacked and drank my way through the intelligent lockdown. Pardon my French, but we could no longer call it eating and drinking. So this time it has to be different.
Now I act all tough as if I came up with this myself, but that's far from the case. Merel from Nowinetoday asked me to try it. I emailed her back at least a hundred times with an excuse. It was my birthday, I was going on vacation, I had a girls' weekend, I had a nice bottle open, there was an intelligent lockdown going on. Blah blah blah, excuses, excuses, and more excuses. Although I think I could easily go a month without drinking. If someone (Merel) then whispers to you that you'll get fitter, achieve your goals more easily, and sleep better, it sounds like the lifestyle you wanted yesterday. I already sleep excellently, but who says no to even better sleep?
Honestly, you do get a bit sluggish in the evening from those drinks. I cook less and snack more, the evening walk often gets skipped, and I struggle to fall asleep around half past nine. I'm really looking forward to being sharp, fitter, and achieving goals. Because there's a Greek course waiting for me, I want to try to pick up running and I've decided to cook healthy every evening. Would it really all be possible through sobertober? Keep you posted, and if you want to join me, just stop by at Nowinetoday.
