Irritations from colleagues part II

May-Britt Mobach at the office

We are now working in the office on Mondays and Thursdays due to corona, and those are my outings. It's nice to have lunch together again, chat, laugh, and work. But what seamlessly accompanies the coziness is... the irritation. Well, there you have me. Can I have a moment?

1. Gnawing
So I have two colleagues (you know who you are) who eat ALL day long. Also without gaining weight, by the way, which is super annoying, but that's beside the point. They start the day calmly with shiraza nuts, garlic crackers, and so on. And that gnaws and nibbles and cracks. Oh guys, if you didn't have misophonia yet, you will get it now.

2. Singing along
One thing leads to another, and that's not always a good thing. So to cover up that cracking a bit, we turn on the radio. And then it happens. They start singing along.

3. Dancing along
Suddenly an arm shoots up in the air, and then another one. I think a mouse is scurrying under the table, but then I understand: it's a little dance.

4. Snapping fingers along
Just when I think I've had enough and have said something about EVERYTHING, fingers start snapping melodically to the beat of the music.

Just one more hour and I can get out of this daycare again. And you know what comforting words I get: ‘I can't whistle, so you're lucky with that.’

I find it a mediocre comfort, but I'll just have to deal with it.
