It's hot: here are some hacks you need

Don't shower too cold because then your body won't cool down anymore, at eight o'clock in the morning seal the whole house hermetically and drink water, water, water. It's hot and I love it. But now that the heat plan has been dusted off again, we (if I may say so) have some handy additions.
1. Buy an inflatable pool and lie in it all day. Tomorrow I'll explain to you why you want this and how to keep that water a bit cool and hygienic.
2. Don't drink your water too cold, but do drink water. I heard a forest ranger on Radio 1 last night say that if you drink cold and pee warm, your body cools down. I found it a very plausible theory.
3. Put your fruit in the fridge. A nice cold apple as a thirst quencher or a big slice of watermelon does a person good in this heat.
4. If you can't handle it all for a moment, then go grocery shopping very slowly. Especially dawdle a lot by the freezer section and for the real daredevils: just eat an ice cream from the packaging while standing in the open door for a long time.
5. Leave animals alone. They are not lying there for nothing, and if you try to get them moving, they can suffer from heat stress. It's really funny that you have the energy to run in this weather, your dog does not.
6. Eat hot. You wouldn't expect it from the hot flashes you can get from peppers, but it's actually good for you. Eating spicy food makes you sweat, and that cools your body down. By the way, sweating is good, as the Volkskrant says: your body is just like an air conditioner.
7. Place a bottle of frozen water behind your fan. Your fan pulls in the cold air and blows it into your house. Oh, from a corona perspective, we obviously do not recommend this method if you are in a room with multiple people. Furthermore, this is the only electrical device you may use, and keep the lights off as well; every digit after the comma is now important.
8. According to the ANWB, you should especially not go out without an umbrella, and that is obviously not related to rain. Perhaps this is the most striking one that came up this week. I find it very pleasant to sit in the air conditioning of my car, but especially do not touch the steering wheel for the first ten minutes.
