Just chatting with… Anouk van der Horst
Hey pssst, Noukie, are you online? I want to chat with you for a bit. Do you know that I am super proud of you? You Utrecht coffee lover! You actually managed to participate in Expeditie Robinson as an unknown face. The Dutch versus the Belgians. One moment you sign up for a game show, the next moment you are buried up to your head in the Philippines. You understand: we want to know more about that. It was a bit of a hassle to get a phone number from RTL, but there you are, cozy among my contacts.
[15:35] Kiki:
Anouk! First of all, how are you doing?
[15:35] Anouk:
Haaa Kiki! Yesss, very good! And you?
[15:35] Kiki:
Also nice! Girl, how fun, finally a Utrecht person in Robinson. Honestly, what went through your mind when you heard you were in?
[15:35] Anouk:
Yeah bizarre! I was at the office when I got the call and I could hardly believe it, you know. They did say: ‘subject to the physical and mental test’, so I still had some stress that it wasn't a hundred percent certain yet.
[15:35] Kiki:
My goodness, I would immediately drop all work and pop the champagne. Who texted you first when you heard?
[15:35] Anouk:
I actually called my mom right away. Nahhh, that conversation was hard to follow, she was so enthusiastic too.
[15:35] Kiki: Are you a bit of a WhatsAppper?
[15:35] Anouk: Haha no, not really. I prefer to send a good voice memo with all the updates every now and then. That's great because I can always do that on my bike to work.
[15:35] Kiki:
Me too! Voice memos are so efficient. Imagine, I ask you to search your chat history for the last message with the word ‘normal’, what do you get?
[15:35] Anouk:
Right at the top is the Robinson app group! Discussion about how far people go in the game and what you might never do ‘normally’.
[15:36] Kiki:
How far did you go in the game?
[15:36] Anouk:
Far. I am really willing to give everything for it. It's a game and everyone who participates knows that, right?
[15:36] Kiki:
Nice. As a true Robinson should.
[15:38] Anouk:
What do you think about that?
[15:39] Kiki:
I think I would also do things in the heat of the Robinson battle that I would normally never do. Eating maggots and that kind of crap.
[15:40] Anouk:
Hahaha, yehessss!
[15:40] Kiki:
Which emoji do you use the most?
[15:43] Anouk:
The chick. I think it's cute. Especially when I
want to get something done.
[15:43] Kiki:
Aah, the chick. HOW CUTE. And, your most used
emojis? Bring on that screenshot.

[15:44] Anouk:
Hahaha, there are some weird ones in there, huh!
[15:45] Kiki:
How lovely, also the otter, the bee, and the cow. Such a
animal friend you are.
[15:46] Anouk:
Hahaha yeah, I use the bee a lot too. Simple way to say that you are present at a party or something.
[15:48] Kiki:
HAHAHA. BZZZPRESENT.
[15:50] Anouk:
Hahaha. More definitely-BEE.
[15:50] Kiki:
Which emoji do you find so ridiculously ugly that it should be banned?
[15:50] Anouk:
That little figure that laughs so hard with tears
I really never use.
[15:52] Kiki:
NOT? I use that one a lot.
[15:53] Anouk:
I do think the one with normal tears of laughter is great. But well, we clearly have different emoji choices, hahaha. No animals for you either, I see. Are you vegetarian?
[15:53] Kiki:
I notice that I am making vegetarian choices more often. But it depends a bit. I deny myself nothing. In a good restaurant, I can easily order fish or meat, but I eat it a bit more consciously.
[15:53] Anouk:
Yeah, I do it exactly like that!
[15:54] Kiki:
Okay, spill the guts. Are you addicted to your phone?
[15:54] Anouk:
Um yeah, I think so. Although I didn't miss it for a second on the island.
It was really enjoyable.
[15:54] Kiki:
What is your average screen time in a week?
[15:55] Anouk:
Three hours and eight minutes. Is that acceptable?
[15:55] Kiki:
I dare not say anything now. *Cough cough 5 hours and 56 min. THAT'S ALMOST 6 HOURS. Okay, bye. I can't talk anymore.
[15:56] Anouk:
Whuuuuut, HAHAHA.
[15:57] Kiki:
Something else, you are a professional coffee taster?
[15:57] Anouk:
Haha yeah, well, I taste coffee for my job. I work
for a large coffee company where I am responsible for
the quality we purchase.
And for this, I indeed taste a lot of cups.
[15:59] Kiki:
What a dream job! How many do you taste per day?
[15:57] Anouk:
Sometimes as many as 200 to 300 cups a day, but I have to say that I spit everything out and that it takes about an hour in total. Are you a coffee lover? I can tell you everything about it!
[15:59] Kiki:
Yes man! I love it. Let's schedule a coffee date soon. This is way too cozy. Finish your work today!
[16:01] Anouk:
Yesss you too, we're going to do it!
[16:01] Kiki:
AND TONIGHT ROBINSON AGAIN WOOHOO
[16:01] Anouk:
SO EXCITED
[16:01] Anouk:
Me tooo, ciao ciao chica!
