Less stress by eating well

From former model to nutrition consultant, Michelle den Hollander flew around the world from shoot to show, but also experienced the struggles of having the ‘right’ measurements. This brought her to where she is now, and on Amayzine she shares tips.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, daily life for many of us looks different. Due to the measures surrounding the virus, the ‘normal’ rhythms of many have been disrupted. Social contacts mostly take place digitally and we have less control over our health and financial situation.
All of this often causes stress and uncertainty. A survey by a research agency shows that 1 in 3 people experience more stress since the corona outbreak. If you belong to this category, realize that stress is unhealthy for you if you have been experiencing it for a long time. We probably all experience stress from time to time. Sometimes briefly, but if you have too much or too often stress, your body has little time to recover, which can eventually lead to physical complaints that can be dangerous for your health. Stress can be a major culprit for ailments and complaints such as headaches, fatigue, insomnia, poor bowel movements, dizziness, loss of muscle mass, increased belly fat, and so on.
Did you know that certain foods stimulate the cuddle hormone oxytocin? This hormone is currently not or much less produced due to the lack of a hug or a pat on the back, and thus the right nutrition can support this. And fortunately, because this hormone helps reduce stress and also gives you self-confidence. I want to share this and more nutritional facts with you, and that’s why I will soon give an online lecture about stress and health.
On Wednesday, November 25 at 8:00 PM, I will go live with Anja Homburg to tell you everything about the effects of stress, but also about how to recognize stress and what you can do to lower your stress levels, such as using nutrition. Anja guides, coaches, and advises people in daily life and does this with methods that keep you focused. I, as a nutrition consultant and hormone expert, want to show that a healthy lifestyle is not a punishment and that it can also be easy. Together we will tell you everything about how stress and health work. Will I see you at our lecture? Take good care of yourself.
Every two weeks, Michelle shares tips on Amayzine about healthy living, know-how about healthy eating, and her own story. Already curious? Read up on Michelle’s Good Food.
