Lils Preggo Talk

Do you miss your sushi that much? Wine? Or what do you think of that cheese platter? I feel you. I’m also talking a lot about myself in the above list. And although I can’t do much about that wine (except for a non-alcoholic version), I did go to the cheese shop for us and found a sushi box specially for pregnant women. And there’s more. I also have some nice reading material for you that won’t give you a spontaneous panic attack for a change, a top massage tip, I’ll share my 4D ultrasound with you, and of course, I have a freshly shopped list of my must-haves for this week ready. Hopefully, you’ll find something useful, and if not, there’s probably a pregnant type haunting around you that you can treat to one of the options below.
So just a little more about the things you might not completely have to give up.
Said anyone sushi? Sure. At SushiPoint, you can order special 9 Months boxes that make your craving for raw fish disappear spontaneously, it’s that well put together. And although you might think that most French cheeses are a no-go zone for your baby, I found that after a visit to the cheese shop, it’s not as bad as I thought. So do you love cheese? And do you miss it? Dare to visit the cheese shop, I came home with a calorie bomb of cheeses made from pasteurized milk that were hardly distinguishable from my love for au lait cru cheesies.

Reading material that won’t give you a spontaneous panic attack.
I got my first book from our sales director Danielle: ‘Eat Like an Expert – Pregnant!’ from I’m A Foodie. Literally all my questions about nutrition were answered by scientists and dietitians, so I no longer had to sift through a hundred different opinions on Google but knew for sure what was good for me. Oh, and in combination with the book ‘Oh baby!’, which I got from one of my best friends, I immediately had the tastiest and especially healthy recipes that ensured my baby gets enough nutrients. And last but not least, two books I’m very curious about and which, I guess, will go into the bag this weekend in the sun on a little boat: ‘Mama-en’ by Nina Pierson full of honest birth stories, a toolkit full of practical exercises, yoga series, and more recipes, and the book ‘Mother Enough. The handbook for more courage and less obligation in motherhood‘ by Florine Duif.
The ultimate pleasure: lying on your belly again.
During the whole corona time, I found it a bit scary to book something like a massage for myself. After some hesitation, a quadruple knot in my neck, and my boyfriend’s persuasion skills, I booked a pregnancy relaxing massage at SOAP Treatment Store. And my goodness, what a good idea that was. Let me start by saying that everything has been adjusted and arranged down to the corona points, so you immediately feel safe upon entering. And then the massage itself. It makes it extra nice because of the massage table with unique cutouts that allow you to chill comfortably on your belly again. Just pay attention to how many weeks pregnant you are. A massage is not recommended during the first trimester of your pregnancy. Although it hasn’t been proven, most masseurs take the safe route and only massage from the second trimester onwards.
