Lils Preggo Talk

The perfect birth announcement. Well, good luck finding that. With a bulging folder of saved Instagram accounts, tips from friends, and the best Google search results, you would think the choice is huge and finding the perfect one would be a piece of cake. Well, not really. Not when you're looking for my ‘wow factor’. There was endless scrolling, comparing, and choosing, only to doubt again, until I landed on the account of @Secretsalt_studio . This is what I was looking for. And luckily, my boyfriend felt exactly the same way. Charlene Poort is her name, and she has designed, among other things, the birth announcement for Rosie (the baby girl of De Huismuts), created awesome iPhone cases for Wildthings, and collaborated with the We Like Bali babes. Cool with a capital C. Her sense of style, prints, typography, material, surprising cut-outs, and color is exactly what I was looking for, and I decided to send her a message that same day. Mood of the day: fingers crossed.

The answer came quickly and is: YES. Not long after, we were on the phone getting to know each other. Charlene told me that she prefers to meet the parents-to-be in real life, but since that is a bit trickier due to corona , calling works well too. We chatted, brainstormed, I might have said my son's full name to someone other than my boyfriend for the first time (whaaaa), and we hung up after a way too pleasant conversation. I promised her to send photos of us, our house, the nursery, and a mood board of prints, illustrations, and colors that I like. Meanwhile, Charlene is spreading her magic for us in her Secret Salt Studio, which in the case of this dream designer means not only designing a card but also the envelopes, including personalized envelopes and wax stamps. Pretty cool, right? And then there's something nice: you can also go for the ‘to the mailbox’ option with her, which means that Charlene takes care of the entire process from A to Z for you, so you won't have any packing or shipping stress when your little one decides to arrive. You understand: I'm totally going for it. In the meantime, I'm diligently collecting all the addresses and trying to keep my enthusiasm to myself for just a little longer, patiently waiting for the final result and not revealing too much to you. So you understand: the images I share with you still have little to do with our secret (salt) project, haha. But oh guys, what a tip tip tip is this address, if you're still looking for the cutest.

And then a little about...

Some art on glass
If you decide to take your birth announcement from Secret Salt Studio, you will receive a handmade art of glass gift with it in 2020, in which the design of the birth announcement is beautifully incorporated.

My baby shower

Which I thought wouldn't happen for me due to the corona craziness. Or at least: not in this amazing way. But if you have the sweetest people around you in my case, they arrange it with some extra face masks on the left and a 1.5-meter measuring tape on the right, so it does happen ‘normally’ for you. And that caused goosebumps squared. Curious about the photos and location? I wrote about it here.

leBump Studio

This week I'm having a unique artwork made of my baby bump by the super sweet and fun sisters of leBump Studio. This is done through 3D photography, where a beautiful (plastic, bronze, brass, silver, glass, or plaster) sculpture of your bump is made. The advice is to come by between week 30 and 36, because then your baby bump is clearly visible and still looks nice and high. And there I was suddenly: not only with my belly exposed but also with my butt. So special to have this little belly with me forever. And you understand: the final result will follow, but we have to wait patiently for the next fourteen weeks.

And of course my shopping tips of the week:
