Make: toastie with gruyère

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the food lovers of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you: the tastiest toastie with red wine.
At the editorial office, we swear by a classic ham-cheese toastie, but you definitely have to try this recipe for a toastie with Gruyère and red wine at least once. Because it's delicious!
For this toastie with Gruyère and red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, preferably), you also need a tablespoon of butter, half a chopped red onion, a finely chopped clove of garlic, a bit of thyme, rosemary, and a tablespoon of flour.
Here's how to make a toastie with Gruyère and red wine
1. Melt the butter in a pan and add the chopped red onion. After a few minutes, you can add the garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Cook for a few more minutes and then add the tablespoon of flour.
2. Pour 180 milliliters of wine into the roux and cook until the sauce is thick enough to stick to a spoon. Taste to see if the alcohol flavor is gone.
3. Spread the two slices of white bread with the spread and top with grated Gruyère. Put some butter in the pan and fry the toastie until golden brown on both sides. And we don't need to tell you what to drink with it, right?
