Meghan and Harry distance themselves from the Royal Family

You might have thought it already, only no soul dared to say it out loud, but here is the message: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just announced themselves that they are stepping back from their role as senior members of the royal family. Caramba.

The two share via Instagram that it was a difficult decision that involved many discussions, but the choice has been made. They announce that they are striving for financial independence (!), will divide their time between the UK and North America, and of course will continue to support Her Majesty The Queen wherever they can. Read the statement from the Duke and Duchess for yourself. The missing photo of Harry, Megs, and little Archie on the Queen's desk during her Christmas speech was indeed a hint.

And Meghan, I can only say one thing to you: the fire in those skin-colored tights and the ripped jeans are back on.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.
