Real Life: “I'm going crazy from my frugal girlfriend”

Marlies (33) is afraid that her best friend's frugal habit will ultimately ruin their friendship.
“I have the best friend in the world. We laugh our heads off, I can always count on her, she has an incredibly good taste and always wants to help me with interior advice and whatever else, but there is one thing that annoys me so much that I almost can't like her anymore. She is so frugal and I find that so irritating.
Well, frugal might not be the worst. I respect it when people see the value of money and don't live recklessly, but stingy, I find that terrible. My friend is the type that when you've eaten together, she doesn't want to share the bill but calculates exactly what you have eaten and drunk and then wants each to pay their exact share. At least, that's how it is if what she ordered is cheaper than what I ordered, otherwise she does suggest splitting the bill. It took me a long time to see it all, but now it has become so big.
It doesn't help that her husband is like that too. I recently heard from a girl who babysat for them that she got a reprimand for taking two glasses of juice from the fridge. Oh, really. It's just that I have known her for so long, but I find such behavior terrible.
She recently sent an open Tikkie for a birthday gift for herself. Haha. I almost had to laugh again. She forgets to pay Tikkies and sends them herself before she has made a collective payment.
I have a catering business and recently catered for a family dinner at her home. Naturally, I had given her a discount and she had ordered six nice bottles of wine that I delivered. They only drank four and instead of saving the last two for another occasion, she came to return them to me and wanted her money back.
Oh guys, I love her, but her behavior is starting to get to me. What should I do?”
In this unusual time, we asked people to share their honest story. To avoid hurting others, Marlies' name has been changed.
