These are the board games to have at home

Monopoly board game

There I was again aimlessly scrolling through Facebook and Instagram, you know — as you do. Suddenly I came across the game I wanted to have at home: the Friends edition of Monopoly. Yes, of course I need to have that as a Friends fan. Seems more than logical to me. But besides being a Friends fan, I am also a board game lover, so I have more tips for you. The first one has already been hinted at, of course.

Friends Monopoly
Yaaa, you probably saw that coming. The game that still causes many family disputes, because you obviously want to win and it’s incredibly annoying when someone builds up that Kalverstraat with hotels and you just land on it. Or in this case maybe Monica and Chandler's apartment. You're stuck with the baked pears or the Ugly Naked Guys apartment.

Ticket To Ride
I recently got this as a tip and I can tell you: it’s really great. There are different editions of it. Netherlands, Europe, USA… Anyway, this is so incredibly addictive and always a hit during game nights. And also something different than the eternal Risk.

Carcassonne
I came across this game because I went to Carcassonne a few times when I was younger (in France) and had quite a few nightmares about it, and at the same time I found it so cool and interesting. So if there’s a game of it, I had to try it out. And it gets a passing grade; it’s easy to understand (also nice that there aren’t thousands of rules) and a great pastime.

Escape Room the Game
You also have this in several variants, from Jumanji Family Edition (fun) to the base game and then all the expansion sets. Also very addictive and you really have to use your brain because it’s quite challenging. You also get really competitive here.

Codenames
So addictive and fun that you, just like in 30 Seconds, play in teams. It’s nice to tease each other when things aren’t going well, challenge each other and go hard against hard. Now with corona it’s a bit tricky to really play with a lot of people, but two against two works and is also very fun.
