The big advantage of coming home from vacation

Adeline drinking coffee with Philips

Not snoozing twice before dragging myself out of bed, no need to cook eggs because that's taken care of, it really doesn't matter at all if you have anything in the fridge to make breakfast. I am happy celebrating vacation in a hotel, but there is one thing that makes me even happier when I come home and that is my self-brewed coffee.

My day stands or falls with good coffee. I think back to that time detoxing without it, I was on the verge of tears all day. At our regular hotel, they know that I like to drink espresso from the fancier machine (you are indeed dealing with a completely spoiled coffee snob here) and I make it a sport to discover where in the village or city the best coffee is brewed during my vacation. So far, I have one conclusion: home. Nothing beats my favorite beans brought back from the coffee shop at my vacation spot (that much is true), which are lovingly freshly ground and ultimately form the basis for my divinely good espresso. On top of that, I don't only have to deal with myself, because my partner prefers a cappuccino with a nice frothy layer. If my coffee is to my liking, something is wrong with his, which somewhat detracts from the greater coffee happiness. First world problems for real here.

While I like my coffee black and strong, my friend opts for a cappuccino made with a double ristretto. I find it nice that I don't have to manually whip his cappuccino foam over the fire or that I need all sorts of external equipment that disrupts my clean countertop policy. Just a push of a button, but then I want the coffee experience that I, as a coffee snob, need to keep my caffeine levels balanced. And not accidentally the coffee setting that my beloved tapped five minutes earlier or that of my mother who made herself a cup. This inconvenience has been solved for me by the friends at Philips by adding my own user profile, allowing the machine to accommodate my coffee preference plus that of three other coffee makers in my house. The 5400 LatteGo actually knows twelve (!) coffee variants, so I dare to bet that your cup is among them. In exactly the recipe as you like it. Pre-set. So you can press the button with your eyes closed. Eureka.

No matter how hard those baristas try on vacation, when I tap the coffee set for me versus water in the Philips LatteGo I might be even happier than waking up in a hotel without snoozing. The life of a coffee snob in a nutshell, plus the very best tip to come home to the tastiest coffee. You’re welcome.
