The most popular titles on Netflix in 2019

Happy New Year everyone. Yes, that's something you have to start with. 2020 will be, I just decided, everyone's year. May we all become happier and binge even more. Because those numbers don't lie, you know. May 2020 also be the year that Netflix removes their “are you still watching?” notification, because I really don't like that. YES, I am still watching. We all were still watching en masse. And what? Netflix has been kind enough to list the most popular titles, so you immediately know if you have some catching up to do.

By the way, Netflix also announced that Friends would be leaving and honestly: I was angry. But after a thorough search, I found out that this mainly applies to America and not to us. So no stress, The One Where Friends Is Leaving is not an episode we need to worry about. What you should worry about is whether you have caught these titles. The most watched titles of the past year, here they come.

1. Undercover

Yesss, just nice at number one. The times when our little country couldn't produce anything of high quality are over. Including a lovely Brabant accent. Bring on season 2.

2. 6 Underground

Um, what? Yes, throw Ryan Reynolds in the lead role and you apparently have a guaranteed hit.

3. Murder Mystery

I've seen it and it's exactly the movie you expect from an Adam Sandler. Pretty weak plot, medium funny and especially for the lead actors a very relaxing vacation, I guess. But it works. The next movie will probably be in a private jet, on a private island or in the most luxurious hotel in the world? Hard work, that film world.

4. La Casa de Papel

Should actually be number one. I can't say more about it.

5. The Irishman

A movie so long that you can best watch it in parts.

6. The Witcher

Apparently it's already more popular than Stranger Things. The replacement for Game of Thrones. It's definitely watched a lot, but honestly: I'm not completely sold yet.

7. Triple Frontier

I still need to watch this, so I can't give an opinion about it. Apparently, I'm one of the few who hasn't seen it, so expectations are high.

8. Isn’t It Romantic?

Confession: I find Rebel Wilson really annoying, but even in this movie, I could tolerate her. It's an easy watch.

9. Sex Education

YAAA, my favorite of the year. Is it January 17? I. Want. That. Second. Season.

10. The Perfect Date

Everything with Noah Centineo is fun. That's a fact since 2019.
