These are the very best series to binge this year

No idea how you all are doing, but my Christmas looks a lot quieter than in previous years. Nothing to be done unfortunately, and still full of cozy plans, but the parties have of course been taken off the schedule. And what do we get in return? An even tamer New Year's Eve. But I'm not going to sit back and do nothing, no, I'm just going to binge-watch Netflix like the old days. Because seriously, there may have been a pandemic taking over the world this year, but I honestly think we should take a moment to appreciate that Netflix has really taken good care of us. There have actually been quite a few really cool series released. Yes, even this year. Fortunately, they are also not the worst at keeping series from previous years available online. So are you struggling with indecision when it comes to the latest series? I got you covered. Here come the absolute must-sees.
Caliphate
Yesss, I keep telling everyone who wants to (and who doesn't want to) hear that this is simply the best series of 2020. WATCH IT, because I will keep repeating it until everyone has seen it.
The Queen’s Gambit
The series that suddenly made chess hot again. Well, again? I'm not quite sure if it has ever been as hot as it is now. You could say that this was the surprise of 2020 and it keeps breaking record after record.
The Crown
That new season... Do I really need to emphasize how incredibly beautiful it is made? No, right?
Home for Christmas
Just a really fun, light-hearted, and entertaining series. Not in the category of ‘very bad but easy to watch’, but actually one with substance and a witty script.
Cheer
Before chess suddenly became hot, everyone had newfound respect for cheerleading. My god, what a ridiculously tough sport this is. So well made too, this documentary.
Orphan Black
Yesss, this remains a delightful series. So thrilling and in the later seasons it sometimes gets a bit hard to follow... But really a recommendation, this one.
Unsolved Mysteries
YES, 2020 was also the return of this true crime docu. Each episode covers a different unsolved case and it is so addictive. And frustrating, because: unsolved.
Love On The Spectrum
The absolute best dating series available on Netflix. Not many episodes, but really hilarious: all the ‘participants’ have a form of autism and are so pure and sincere. Wonderful.
Love Is Blind
Okay, this is actually also the absolute best dating series available on Netflix. If you haven't seen this yet (HOW NOT?): you are really missing out. Watch it. NOW.
