From former model to nutrition consultant, Michelle den Hollander flew around the world from shoot to show, but also experienced the struggles of having the ‘right’ measurements. This brought her to where she is now, and on Amayzine she shares tips.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, even though we are facing it a bit differently this year. As annoying as that lockdown is, I still looked for something positive. And that is that you have a bit more control over how you organize Christmas and what appears on the table. After asking three times, I still take a piece of homemade cake from my father-in-law and that glass is quickly refilled. Not only at home, but also at my parents', in-laws', and friends'. The days after, I complain about stomach issues and a lack of energy. Do you recognize that? Then this will be your Christmas.

You are home more, so you cook. Give vegetables the leading role in a dish and dive into the kitchen for some healthy bakes. And I have more tips.

Did you know?

1. Does sparkling water with a little bit of organic elderflower or citrus syrup on champagne sound good?

2. Is parsnip puree a perfect substitute if you don’t like mashed potatoes?

3. If you want to watch your food intake, you should look at side products like fries, bread rolls with herb butter, and sauces, not just the main ingredients?

4. Do you get less or no bloating from gluten-free products?

5. And does it also work to not drink dairy after eating, like a latte macchiato, cappuccino, or Irish?

6. Is this the moment to unwind from the crazy year?

Tips that might help you end the year a bit healthier, but also very cozy. And now enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner and that oliebol or apple turnover with New Year's. A very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2021 for you.
