This is why everyone is talking about Outer Banks

Today we are not going for highbrow. Today we are not going for good plot twists, interesting characters, and strong dialogues. No, today we are going for… How shall I put it, aesthetically pleasing to look at? That still sounds a bit chic. Today we are watching Outer Banks and I can't sell it to you any other way. But if you like a series like Riverdale (easy to watch, attractive people, ultimately doesn’t really make sense), then there’s a 99 percent chance you’ll love this one too.
Because Outer Banks is… Well, Outer Banks is beautiful people, it’s beach, it’s little clothing, it’s a flimsy storyline, it’s exactly what we need now that the sun isn’t showing. And that’s clear, because this series suddenly burst into Netflix’s most popular series and films.
A bit about that flimsy storyline: a group of teenagers who call themselves ‘Pogues’ are determined to solve the disappearance of a father. The son of that father, John B., is the leader of their gang and of course he wants to know what on earth happened to his father. So a search begins, and soon it becomes clear that it’s not just a simple disappearance: his father was on a real quest and the Pogues want to finish it.
But those Pogues are having trouble with another gang: the ‘Kooks’. Yes, really. I said it… Flimsy storylines, but oh my god this is so easy to watch. That mystery aspect is a nice addition, because if it were just pretty faces it would get a bit too boring. Is it all believable? Oh, absolutely not. It’s also compared to the cast of Stranger Things going on spring break, of course there’s also a lot of romance and it’s deliciously over-the-top with many plot twists.
Suddenly I don’t mind at all that my phone indicates that May 11 is the first truly sunny day. Outer Banks has ten episodes and I feel perfectly at home on the east coast of the United States.
