This is why everyone is talking about Tiger King

Well, the binge times have certainly begun for all of us. This weekend I myself did little else than finish Netflix. The choice was, unlike other times, incredibly easy and done quickly. Because everyone is talking about Tiger King, so I wanted to see that too.
What. Is. This. Bizarre. That is actually the best description I can give. And yes, I have said that before about docuseries on serial killers and that sort of thing, but this one truly takes the cake. Every episode seems even weirder than the one before it. Really truth stranger than fiction, because this all actually happened. I’m still trying to process it, I think.
Joe Exotic (not his real name, obviously) breeds tigers and animal activist Carole Baskin tries to stop him. Not that Carole is an angel herself, because it turns out she’s no better than the animal-abusing Joe. In fact, her husband has disappeared in a rather mysterious way. No joke.
Actually, every person who appears in Tiger King is a kind of caricature. Misformed teeth, flamboyant looks, it’s really a kind of freak show. I don’t want to spoil too much because you just have to watch it yourself to understand the absurdity. Truly the weirdest thing I’ve seen in a while.
So if you expect a docuseries about tigers in captivity and that’s it, you’ll be disappointed. But that’s totally fine, because Tiger King is so much more. It lasts a total of seven hours and they fly by. And afterwards, you’ll probably just be thinking: WTF, did I just watch?
Me: Oh cool, a documentary about tigers. Let me check this out. #TigerKing
