This way you will have enough energy left in December

From former model to nutrition consultant, Michelle den Hollander flew around the world from shoot to show, but also experienced the struggles of having the ‘right’ measurements. This brought her to where she is now, and on Amayzine she shares tips.
Corona. Many people around me are fed up with it and I can understand that. I can't complain, because I don't have running children at home, I open my laptop at the kitchen table and my consultations and lectures continue online. Although I do sometimes miss that, of course. I miss the hugs, long for incredibly busy production days for a fashion show, and sometimes feel a bit isolated. But I am Dutch: down-to-earth and I make room to complain sometimes.
I understand that a healthy lifestyle is quite a challenge during this time. Corona, and then also the holidays lurking around the corner. That's why I would like to help you with simple tips that give you a bit more peace and stability.
1. Make a plan
One for the day, but also for the week. In your weekly planning, include appointments that deviate from the daily routine, such as grocery shopping, exercising, what you're going to eat in the evening, and which appointments you have outside the house. In a daily plan, write everything down, from the moment you get up until you go to bed and everything in between. This way, you prevent your good intentions from being postponed and you keep eating at fixed times, which creates a good rhythm. It also provides mental peace.
2. Ensure a healthy diet
Rhythm is important, but what you eat may be even more important. Try to eat a varied diet. Eat enough vegetables and as pure as possible. With two liters of water a day, you prevent snacking, which ensures that you don't have a fluctuating blood sugar level and thus avoid huge peaks and troughs in your energy.
3. Spend more time in the kitchen
Being at home more doesn't automatically mean you'll eat healthier. We seek comfort at home, but it also provides options. Spend a bit more time in the kitchen and look for fun recipes. Or support your locals and try to find healthy delivery options. Candles, music on, and just enjoy.
4. Stock up on healthy snacks
Snack vegetables, olives, lean meats to make rolls, whole grain rice cakes with some tasty hummus, and raw nuts. Being at home more often leads to eating more. If you have a healthy alternative on hand, you make it easier for yourself. Also eat a portion of pepernoten at set times, so you ensure that you don't build up cravings.
5. Move, take your rest, and go to bed on time
Try to walk or bike for at least an hour every day; daily movement is especially important when working from home. But also try to hit the gym or go for a run. Make a bit more room for relaxation, put your phone down more often, and read a nice book. And finally: keep your day and night rhythm somewhat balanced by going to bed and getting up on time.
Why wait until January with good intentions? With these tips, you'll have plenty of energy in December and start the new year fit.
