Wake up as it should be

Why you are never tired on vacation? Because you wake up at a time that suits you. Because you are awakened by the light and not by some – no matter how annoying it may sound – ringtone. Especially on these dark days, getting up is no fun. The rain taps against the windows, the wind seems to want to pull your windows open, and it is still pitch black outside.

But there is a way to wake up pleasantly even now, in the depths of autumn, at the threshold of winter. And that is with the Philips Somneo Sleep & Wake-Up Light. It works as follows: the Somneo simulates a sunrise where the light gradually increases in intensity, starting with soft red to eventually bright yellow light. As a result, you wake up at a moment that literally feels good, and gradually too. Not in the middle of your REM sleep with a sound that doesn't build up.

Additionally, you can choose a sound that makes you happy with the morning light. Birds, a rustling sea: the choice is huge. But if you prefer to wake up with Mattie and Marieke, that is of course also possible. You can also tune the Philips Somneo to your favorite radio station.

What I also find very pleasant about the Somneo is that you not only wake up nicely with it, but also fall asleep peacefully. You have been busy, just put your phone down (so you have an overdose of blue light) and then cannot fall asleep from one moment to the next. Well, in that case, you can activate the reverse function and the Somneo simulates a sunset. The light intensity gradually decreases (you can set the duration yourself) and you also choose matching and soothing sounds. You can even set a relaxation program where you set a certain number of breaths per minute that helps you to breathe deeply and calmly. Really falling asleep and waking up like that does something to you.

By the way, by the way, by the way: my Philips Somneo also has a sensor that measures the temperature and humidity in my bedroom, so I can adjust things to create an even better sleep environment.

I would say: Isn't this the cutest December gift?
