What you can learn from Max Mara 2020

If there is an invitation that I push aside with a bruised fashion heart, it is that of Max Mara. Because I have a relationship with the brand, because the show is of course held in Milan, because the styling is always in the hands of Carine Roitfeld, because the best models walk the runway, because they stay true to the core values of the brand and yet innovate every time. That's why.
Fortunately, we live in the digital age and my friends from Max Mara immediately sent me the feed with all the images so that I could still be there, even in Southern Italy. Just a bit of what you can learn from the show.

1. Uni remains
Nothing more stylish than a full color look. Choose beige, white, black or gray and you are totally Max Mara.
2. The teddy remains
When you say Max Mara, you say iconic coats, namely the 101801 and the teddy coat. They always remain, but they get a twist every year. This year it kisses the floor, it comes in a lovely striped variant of black and camel (everyone thinking of Maya the Bee right now should stand in the corner), it also comes in camel and black versions and is tied together with a soft belt creating an ultra-luxurious robe feel. Furthermore, you will find the 101801 with ruffled sleeves and dropped shoulders, and that one is nice and goes up to mid-thigh.
3. The bag is XXL
Preferably matching the coat, and how fun is their new model with two extra bags, one for water (which I can totally imagine) and a smaller one for your phone. Or whatever you want. I find it intensely cute in any case.
4. The skirts are asymmetrical
One side high, the other side nice and flowy and long.

5. See-through is a thing
But the breasts are covered by a non-transparent stitched pocket.

6. Pants close high
No peeping danger when you have to bike hard.

7. Moroccan influences
The djellaba-inspired ponchos are zum haben.
