Why not drinking in September is a good idea

Now that I went from lockdown drinking to sitting on the terrace in one smooth motion in 2020, it can be a little less for a while. I also hear more and more of those fairy-tale stories about what not drinking does for you, and let September be the month in which you can best start a good resolution. Nothing permanent by the way, just for a day out of thirty.
I asked Merel Braakman from Nowinetoday.nl, because what does such an alcohol-free period actually do with and for you?
1. You sleep better
Even though you fall asleep faster after a glass of wine, you don't sleep better. By not drinking, your sleep improves, and it could very well be that you even need less sleep.
2. Your body gets a vacation
By taking a month off from alcohol, your body immediately perks up. Your skin problems disappear, you are less likely to get all sorts of diseases, and you often lose a few pounds around your belly.
3. Euros
I don't know how it is with your wine preference, but mine can add up quite a bit. That makes a difference at the bottom of the bill.
4. You get a glow
Just like smoking, alcohol makes your skin dull; by not drinking, you get a healthy glow.
5. Energy for ten
You might not even notice it anymore, but even one alcoholic drink slows you down the next day. If you don't drink, you have more energy.
At Nowinetoday offers a program that suits you. They make not drinking even more interesting by combining it with a goal, because it can be very well combined. For example, if you've always wanted to make bags from banana peels, just to name something, then it could very well be that after thirty days alcohol-free, you have a business plan. And then you can just enjoy a good glass again; it's not like Merel and her companions are from the blue knot. I obviously want to know if it works for me, and that's why I'm participating in SoberTober, keep you posted.
