Yesss, finally Victoria’s Secret is really coming to the Netherlands

Hallelujah, how fun is this? Okay, okay, they have been under fire lately for some very valid reasons, but it still remains my favorite lingerie brand. I don’t have a body like the former Angels (and not many do, that was kind of the whole problem), but if there’s one brand that makes me feel a bit sexy, it’s definitely Victoria’s Secret. And that’s one of the brands I stock up on during a visit to the United States. Because yes, Victoria’s Secret is not available for purchase in the Netherlands.

Except for that merchandise that you definitely don’t want. It’s nice to have a store at Schiphol, but I don’t want a keychain, lip gloss, wallet, and a perfume. NO, I want those lovely bras that make my decent cup B look its best. Including matching hipsters. And I just love those stores, they are so fun and so over-the-top American. I love it, and so I am very pleased to share the best news of the day: Victoria’s. Secret. Is. Coming. To. The. Netherlands. AND THIS TIME FOR REAL.

So including all lingerie. Yesss, how fun is that? They just launched a new campaign and it gives me quite a motivation to go shopping. And it’s nice that they are clearly learning from their mistakes, because I see a lot of different sizes, backgrounds, and types of women on the poster. Love it.

Downside: As an Amsterdammer, I have to travel quite a distance because the store will open in Leidschendam. In other words, a city (village?) that I never go to, but change is coming. Westfield Mall of the Netherlands will open in Leidschendam, which already sounds quite international and that’s exactly what it will be. Victoria’s Secret is the newest addition to this shopping center, which is really a gigantic project. So definitely enough reason for a shopping day in Leidschendam. Who would have thought?

The full collection will be available here and the whole mall is set to open this fall. So just a little more patience, but it’s really good news. Fingers crossed that they will sell not only lingerie but also the sports line, which I find very nice and it also gives you a good booty. During my last trip to New York, I bought a set and I want more.

Last good news: there will be a second Victoria’s Secret store in the Netherlands, but that location is still being kept under wraps. Because it’s Amsterdam, right? I want to know. (edit: meanwhile, the new store in Amsterdam is also open!)
