10 things we thought about The Traitors

The Traitors gossip episode 1

Did you see it? Saturday night? I was ready for it, you know. And I must say: a new favorite show has entered the building. So from now on, on Mondays, the points we still need to discuss. Because with so much deceit, trickery, and manipulation, this is a show with a high gossip content, you understand.

1. Just a little realization: 1,598,000 viewers clean on the hook. That’s even more viewers than the emo interview of Marco Borsato and Linda. The proof: after Who is the Mole? we are once again in the mood for a game show with a group of random celebrities thrown together. Bring it on.

2. Okay, Jörgen Raymann is just quite a boss. ‘Make me a traitor. At night I’ll stick a fucking knife in your back. I don’t care at all, as long as I win.‘

3. Oh, how delightful that we as viewers on the couch get to see everything in this process from the beginning. I seriously feel the nerves as Tijl puts his hand on the shoulders of Kees, Diederik, and Holly...

4. Oh, how eeeeerg that you then have to open your eyes while everyone looks at you inquisitively. And Kees immediately takes a sip of water, SO STUPID.

5. ‘What strange creatures we are.’ Francis is definitely my spirit animal. This woman has gone from super annoying to absolutely amazing in my head in just half an hour.

6. A few strange things about that mission in between, huh.

- So they have nothing to do with the Traitor/Trust game?
- They play games for silver and ‘shields’ (exemptions), but otherwise no one benefits from sabotaging?
- Since when do we have such a ridiculously long staircase in the Netherlands? Just seeing it would make me need oxygen.

7. If you’re a magician yourself, but can’t handle deceit and trickery so poorly that you constantly walk around like an awkward red tomato while you have nothing to hide. That sucks, Steven Kazàn. HAHAHA.

8. Tweet of the week: ‘Weird program if the first eliminated isn’t Ron Boszhard.’

9. Ah guys, it was Gaby Blaaser who was ‘murdered’ in night 1. Well, that escalated quickly. And Daan gets slyly eliminated the next morning. Which I secretly don’t mind that much. Is that silly to say?

10. Just a little heads-up for these people to be careful.

- Diederik Jekel thinks way too short term. Mr. The Traitor plays hardball to eliminate Trust, but this can’t go on like this for long.
- Edson jumps in everywhere very noticeably, but if this guy starts convincing other Trust members to vote out Traitors, he’ll obviously be murdered immediately. Which is a shame because Edson is so nice.

Okay, this is really a chill game. I also find myself a bit rooting for The Traitors, I notice. #GoHollyGoHolly.

P.S.. Test: heart at the bottom if you’ve also watched and are a fan. See you next week!
