9 Crazy things you do in times of corona

May-Britt Mobach under an umbrella

1. Monday is the new Saturday

Okay, I still love Friday nights because of wine, the fireplace, and The Voice, but otherwise I slog through the weekend. On Monday there’s still a bit of buzz, we have things to do. There are calls with school and it’s lively. I think the weekend during corona times is the hardest because everything that makes the weekend (dinners, shopping, having coffee, seeing friends) is gone.

2. Loading the dishwasher very neatly
I have really elevated that to a higher art. The spoons are stacked spoon-to-spoon and the forks are lined up smoothly. You would almost want to take pictures of it.

3. American pancakes for lunch
We try to make a celebration out of every day. If that requires American pancakes for lunch, then we do it.

4. Looking forward to walks
Walking is my new socializing. I have a whole walking schedule. That day with K, then with L, then with I, and soon with F.

5. Your children look forward to walks
Who would have ever thought that?

6. You sign up for a sewing course
Okay, I haven’t done this yet, but I’m seriously considering it. Of course with a friend (because nothing is more fun than taking a course together. Well, one thing is even more fun: skipping that course together), but it seems completely ‘fun’. Sewing duvet covers and maybe even making clothes.

7. Buying thermal underwear
For those walks, of course.

8. Buying warming bags
You tear them open and then the bag stays warm in your jacket pocket. Soon I’ll be visiting Bever Zwerfsport more often than PAUW.

9. Buying expensive food
I’m not going out to eat, I’m not socializing, so that nice Vanilla Sky juice from Juice Brothers can definitely stay in my freezer.

And you? What are you all doing differently now than in the BC (before corona) era?
