Proven: men do not fall for smart women

Intelligence is sexy. Period. That's just how it is. Women who can hold a conversation, know what's going on in the world, have a degree...
But do men really fall for very intelligent women?
Uh, no, sorry
Research has been done on this. And of course, a somewhat smart man also wants a woman who can hold her own and who can pass on good genes to his children, so to speak. But now it turns out from this research published in the Society for Personality and Social Psychology that most men prefer not to date a woman who is more intelligent than they are themselves. So a woman can be smart, but not too smart.
The study is quite funny. About 150 men were shown photos of women and were asked to rate how attractive they found them. Then they had to take an intelligence test and afterwards meet women who had taken the same test and scored higher or lower. Men remain... Men. Roosters. Who don't want to be outdone by another, you know. Because after that IQ test, they had to indicate how attractive they found the women. Now it turned out that the men suddenly found the women who were more intelligent a lot less attractive... In other words: IQ plays a role in someone's attractiveness. But maybe not in the way we thought it would work in our favor.
Harvard
The surprising thing is that men say they want a smarter woman by their side, but in a ‘real life‘ study, men quickly become intimidated when the woman is too smart. Well, in this day and age, it can be said. Just go to Harvard if you get the chance, girl. You're doing well, just for yourself. And not for that man.
Just get divorced
Do you know what is actually nice? Women are also getting smarter. The figures in the Netherlands show that. It shows that on average 46 percent of women around thirty in the Netherlands have a degree in higher education. For men, that is 38 percent. Ha. We are studying more. And let's keep that up, okay? You can also see it reflected in relationships: in 20 percent of cases, the woman is now more educated than the man, and in 13 percent, it's the other way around, according to the CBS. In just over two-thirds of couples, both partners have an equivalent degree. And who breaks up the most often? Couples where both are not highly educated break up the most often. If both partners are highly educated, then after 12 years, 19 percent break up. And if the woman is more educated than the man? Then the percentage of break-ups is somewhere in between.
