Brilliant: you can play voice memos at an accelerated speed

Voice memos... I have some thoughts about them. At first, I didn't care for them at all, but then I kind of changed my mind. A friend of mine kept sending them back to me, and I found it so silly that I kept typing back instead of just sending a little story in return. And then I thought: hey, this is actually quite handy. And now I often use it when you want to catch up with a friend and you know that typing will take at least a quarter of an hour.
But listening in, people. That. Listening in. That's quite a task. My record for a voice memo I sent is almost nine minutes, and to be honest, I feel quite sorry for the person who had to listen to it. The longest one I received was also around that length, and I felt quite sorry for myself then too.
Buuut dear Android users: you were of course already super happy, because this feature has been available to you for a while. As an iPhone user, I'm really bummed, just renewed my subscription and not only do I have a worse camera, but also a worse version of WhatsApp. Great.
That bumming was therefore unnecessary, because by now the first iPhone users have it too. YES, the fast playback is also coming for iOS users and I think that's great news. The beta version is available as we speak for a lucky few — unfortunately, I'm not one of them but of course, I'm going to update my WhatsApp right away — and hopefully, before too long, everyone can play it at double speed.
People, what are we going to do with all this extra free time? For every voice memo of almost ten minutes that I send, you can just gain five minutes as a listener. I just have oceans of extra time left over. What a luxury.
